Cleaning Vertical Blinds

Vinyl Louvers
• Commonly dust or vacuum with an upholstery accessory.
Soil exclusion, sponge with a soft detergent and warm water solution and stain dry. Louvers may be detached and submerged in water.
If a thin film of mild detergent is left on louvers, static electricity will be eliminated.
Fabric Louvers
• Commonly dust or vacuum with an upholstery accessory.
Soil elimination, sponge with a soft detergent and warm water solution (or dry fabric cleaner) and stain dry.
Do not submerge in water or dry clean.
Roman Shades
• Take out the shade from its window; open it and lay out on a clean, plane surface.
If it’s dusty, vacuum with an upholstery accessory.
To clean fingerprints or soiled spots, use an aerosol spray foam upholstery or fabric cleaner.
Spray the foam cleaner over the area to be cleaned. Right away scrub the area with a clean moist sponge until the stains are disappeared. Be cautious not to crush or wrinkle the fabric.
Eliminate excess water from the fabric by patting with a clean, dry towel. Suspend the shade up when totally dry.
Do not use strong detergents or spot removers. Dry cleaning is not recommended.
Cellular Shades
• Dust with a plume duster.
Lightly vacuum fabric with an upholstery accessory.
Wipe with a soft detergent and warm water solution and stain dry.

Pleated Shades
• Take out the shade from its window; open it and lay out on a clean, plane surface.
If the shade is dusty, vacuum with an upholstery attachment.

• Lightly vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
Sponge with a mild detergent and warm water solution and blot dry.
Faux Wood Blinds
• Lightly vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
Sponge with a mild detergent and warm water solution and blot dry.
Wood Blinds
• Lightly vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
Painted Finish: clean with a soft, damp cloth.
Stained Finish: treat with lemon oil or other wood preservative.
Vinyl Blinds
• calmly vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
wipe with a mild detergent and warm water solution and blot dry.
Transparent Blinds

Previous to general use, we suggest that a sample be tested before cleaning the whole blind.
Use soft soap and warm water. Apply a cleaning solution to a soft cloth and then wipe slats. Do not spray cleaning solution directly on the blind.
Hairline scratches and minor abrasions can be removed or minimized by using a mild automobile polish (e.g., Johnson Paste Wax, Mirror Glaze plastic polish (M.G.M. 10), Mirror Bright Polish Co., Maguires Plastics Cleaner).
